Andy Johnson
Hello, I’m Andrew Johnson, Chairman of the Board and Lay Leader at Mt. Gilead Methodist Church. My spiritual gifts are leading with compassion, offering empathy to those in need, and providing practical support. Those drive my passion for missions, community engagement, and service to others. With a background in business analytics, project management, and office management, I bring strong organizational and analytical skills to my role, alongside a heart for ministry.
My passion for helping others was shaped by an early lesson in generosity and faith. As a child, I witnessed my father respond to a family asking for help in a grocery store parking lot. Although we were not planning to shop, he spent all the money he had to provide them with food and necessities. I remember asking him why he did that. His response stayed with me, “It’s what Jesus wants us to do.” That moment instilled in me a commitment to serving others and following Christ’s example of love and compassion.
I love my community, my church, my wife, and, above all, Jesus Christ. One of my greatest joys is discussing how our church can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. My personal interests include software development, NASCAR, and learning about Jesus and deepening my faith.
